Mascoma, founded in 2006, was a sustainability company focused on the development of genetically-modified yeasts and other microorganisms to reduce costs and improve yields in the production of renewable fuels and chemicals. The company’s yeast-related business assets and name were acquired by Lallemand in 2014.
